Did President Bush Cause the Economic Crisis?

I realize that this post can be very controversial, but I want to know what real people think. I hear in the news what Americans think, what Canadians think, from the politicians perspective, but what do real people think? Is it possible to have a non partisan discussion on this issue?

Even Republicans agree that there were blunders, or mistakes, that have, at least, contributed to the crisis. Did it all start with the housing crisis? Is Bush to blame for mortgages going out to people who could never afford them? Was it a lack of government regulations that caused the housing crisis, that fueled the current global economic crisis? What about the war... most would agree that the war in Iraq did not play out as originally intended. Could the financial investment made there have been better spent elsewhere?

Geoff Canada, President/CEO, Harlem Children's Zone, Inc. believes that the current and previous administrations have been misguided in their investments. Take the recent economic bailout provided for Wall Street... what if that money, or even a small portion of it, was invested in a strategic bailout for impoverished youth? What returns would that kind of investment yield?

I have been accused of being too liberal in my thinking... for opposing "free market" capitalism, but my opposition is not based in a welfare mentality. I believe strongly in personal responsiblilty and accountability. I don't actually favor any political party, but I do believe in social responsibility - in the strong and able being responsible for the weak and unable. I further believe that "free markets" are a breeding ground for greed and corruption. Unfortunately, someone has to be a watchdog. We cannot rely on the good of human kind.

You may be thinking that I am leaning toward "blaming" President Bush for the current state of the global economy, but I am not. I think that we all need to take some personal responsibility. We need to examine what we really believe, in our core... and not whatever political view we have taken a "side" on. Do we really believe that Wall Street CEOs are more deserving of a "bailout" than a child born into poverty? If we believe that government has a responsibility to care for that child, does that really make us a "socialist"?

If you think of me as being too "liberal", don't apologize. (seriously, I've had people apologize for using that "L" word LOL), I am not insulted by the term, but I really view myself as being a humanist - I believe in social responsibility tempered by fiscal conservatism... and I believe that most people in the free world are.

But... what do YOU really think?

Top 10 New Years Resolutions

This is my guess of the Top 10 New Year's Resolutions.

* Lose Weight
* Manage Debt
* Save Money
* Get a Better Job/Make More Money
* Get Fit
* Eat Right
* Get Organized
* Quit Smoking
* Reduce Stress
* Volunteer to Help Others

I know that New Year's Resolutions have gotten a bad rap in the past, accused of setting people up for failure, of being the cause of low self esteem. Perhaps the top of the list of resolutions should include taking responsibility for one's self - and for one's goals!

The beginning of a New Year is truly a great time to set goals, although any arbitrary date could be set as a new beginning. The key to success is to choose achievable goals and break them down into smaller tasks.

If your goal is to lose weight, you need to first determine how much weight you want or need to lose. Is it a number of pounds, a percentage of body fat, or trimming a 36 inch waist to a more desired 28 inches? Is your weight loss goal realistic? If not, change it. Next develop a plan, and finally execute the plan. For weight loss or getting fit goals, you need to engage in consistent planning - for example menu planning.

Personally, while not a New Years Resolution perse, I resolve to lose some weight (my real plan is to win our group's competition), but my greatest goal is to get organized and spend my time more efficiently - which will result in more money, more time with family, and less stress.

How about you? What are your goals for 2009? How do you plan to achieve them?

The Economic Bailout for the Rest of Us

There is much talk of doom and gloom in the news today. It's all over the internet too. The highest searched term these days relates to bailouts...

As evidenced by the posts on this blog, some of us have declined to participate. We do get to choose what we listen to, what we focus on... and we choose prosperity!

There is no shame in choosing prosperity over poverty. Those who think it is noble to be poor, take heed. How much good can you do if you are impoverished? There is nothing noble about being poor, and nothing shameful about being rich. There is great nobility in becoming rich and sharing your fortune with others. I am not talking about charity. I am talking about leading by example, about getting rich and showing others how you did it.

I encourage everyone to read the Science of Getting Rich. If the current economic downturn frightens you, you will find comfort in this little green book written by Wallace Wattles over a century ago. Wattles discusses the truth behind real prosperity, true wealth. It truly is more than money. He discusses the methods one can use to get rich; on the competitive plane, or on the creative plane, and which plane brings lasting and real wealth.

I've attended conferences where the message has been that all big business is bad and grew on greed. That is a little like saying all children eat dirt. They don't. Some do, but not all. There are actually some CEOs of large corporations who attained their wealth on the creative plane, bringing others along with them. Those corporations provide their employees with real opportunity to learn and to grow, and to share in the prosperity. Those are not the corporations that you will see crash in this new economy. Those are the ones that will flourish.

The internet presents an awesome opportunity for those who choose to take advantage of it. There are just as many, if not more, internet marketers who are gaining wealth on the competitive plane by taking advantage of the gullible. And then there are the few... the few who understand that true wealth is more than money, that true gain is not attained through charity, but through effort and an honest desire to help others.

The CrazyFoxes Marketing Group is one such group of internet marketers. We govern ourselves by the teachings of The Science of Getting Rich, and other Wattles teachings. We intend to gain wealth and prosperity and to show others how to do the same. We believe strongly in what we have to offer, and in the inevitablity that our members will most certainly create the life they desire. It is on that basis that we invite like minded individuals to join us in this noble mission of spreading prosperity. This is the economic bailout for the rest of us!

The U.S Economic Crisis: Bail Yourself Out!

The US Economic Crisis: Bail Yourself Out!

The whole United States is in an economic crisis, and yes, we can finally say the word "recession". The country has been in a recession for quite some time but no one wanted to admit it and no one uttered that word. So now that it's out in the open, all we are hearing about and reading about is the economic bailout.

The US government had to bailout the giants of the banking and insurance industries and more recently inject some cash flow into the largest automobile makers in the country. There's now talk of an economic bailout stimulus package for everyone. So, how do we deal with all this? We don't sit back and wait, we get involved and bail ourselves out! No longer can we rely on the government or corporations to "take care" of us.

One industry that is not affected by this economic crisis is internet marketing. More and more people are starting a home based business every day. There are so many good opportunities on the internet that a person can prosper from and become successful in and quite honestly the time has come.

If you are looking to start a home based business and start making money online but have no idea where to start, there's a wonderful group of honest, ethical, hardworking internet marketers that is here to help you - The Crazy Foxes Marketing Group. Maybe you've already heard of them?

Tough Times Often Hides New Opportunities

An internet business is an inherently lonely business. Few people
around you know, let alone care or understand what you do.
Usually you have noone you can bounce your ideas off.

I'm very fortunate to find myself as one of the Crazy Foxes. It
gives me comfort to know that at any time I need advise or just
someone to talk to, I can click on my Desktop Crazy Foxes
Skype group, and there'll be someone there, ready to have
a chat.

People who survive in the internet world of business are people
who prefer to take charge of their own lives. If you can stay
positive and motivated, during the toughest of times, and if you
can believe that economic problems can open new opportunities,
then you have every chance to put your life on a clear track
towards your primary goals. Life is nothing if not a series of
challenges. What sets us all apart is how we deal with them.

To have a successful life you must have a plan. Each of us are
the masters of our own universe. If you don't know in which
direction you want to go and what you want to achieve, how
will you get there? You need to have a clear vision and know
precisely which obsticles lay in your path. If not, you become
like a rudderless boat which can only go nowhere.

I believe it's better to have a bad plan, than to have no plan at
all. I like to know that the mistakes I make throughout my life
are mine and can't be blamed on someone else. That's a
slippery slope I take great pains to avoid. Often you're
fortunate to meet and work with wonderful, intelligent people,
who can help you up the ladder towards your goals. I'm lucky
to have that with my Crazy Foxes group. I believe that advise
from your peers is a gift, but taking advise does not spread
the responsibily for the actions that follow. If you can't own a
decision don't make it.

Bad economic times are neither negative or positive, they are
simply a force of nature beyond any one persons control. So I
say; update your business plan, consider the obsticles, revise
your strategy, and set your path directly towards your goals.
If you stay on course, you WILL arrive, be it with or without
a few battle scars.

Economic Stimulus Package - Plan B

As a student of the Law of Attraction, I am a firm believer that our current global economy, and the potential for entering a full blown depression, nevermind recession, is not a reason to be fearful, but rather it is all part of evolution. You see, wealth is created in various ways. One of those ways is by cut-throat, winner take all competition. This is what we are seeing now in big business, where greed turns seemingly good people into ... well... even criminals. The notion that an economic stimulus package will make a difference is nothing more than resistance. A fear based reaction and an attempt to "control" the inevitable.

That winner take all competative attitude may serve the CEO, and even the networker, well for a time. He may well gain great material wealth, but it is fleeting. This is what we are witnessing... the fleeting wealth of the big business giants. Real wealth means more than money. Real wealth and prosperity is lasting, satisfying, and giving. It is not about taking, but it is about receiving - and there is a difference.

Real wealth and prosperity is attained by so few because it is hard mental work... it is difficult for us self serving humans to really wrap our head around the concept that creation and service to others is the true ticket to a satisfying and prosperous life. In network marketing, we always hear that our job is to show others what we are doing, so that they too can show others and so on. Sometimes, however, greed begins to take over. I have seen greed and inflated egos tear apart friendships, business partnerships, and worse.

It's time to stop the insanity... to get real, and get down to work. The internet, and network marketing will build the new economy. This is the REAL economic stimulus package! Where else can you start a business with little to no risk, or start up capital?

We have the answer! We have the systems, the tools, the technology and the know how. All you need is the desire, the belief, and the work ethic. We are looking for like minded, honest people who really want to change their own life, but also want to help others achieve REAL prosperity. Not the fleeting, semi satisfying material gain that comes at a cost of relationships and peace of mind. Join us as we bring the economic bailout to the people... let the government deal with the plutocrats, and let us not be distracted by them. Instead let us get busy enjoying the opportunity their greed has provided for us. Lets move forward with belief and gratitude!

The Australian Approach to the Big Bailout

Hello,

I've noticed that the Australian approach to resolving the financial meltdown is a little different from the Amreican version. The Australians are giving money to families with chidren. How much? About US$500 per child, with the admonishment that they should spend the money to jump-start the economy. Interesting, can you imagine the US government just giving money away to the taxpayers? . . . . I can't.

That's not all the folks DownUnder are doing - but if you're interested, take a look here http://www.dailyreckoning.com.au/bailout-plan-3214/2008/09/26/ - it make an interesting read.

Best wishes for a healthy economy and an even healthier new blog,
