What Do You Expect From A Diet?
To the question: What do you expect from a diet? The answer is not as simple as you may think. The quick answer is to say, ‘I expect to lose weight’, but that’s like answering the question; what do you expect from a meal? with the answer; ‘I expect some food’. Neither answer really addresses the question.
People diet for all sorts of reasons. They want to build up their self esteem. They want to catch the eye of someone special. They want to look good for the wedding or some special event. They want to get back into their clothes. They want to rekindle the romance in a marriage. They want to get their energy back. They are worried about their health. They just want to look good right now. These are all short term goals and people know they can only expect a short term solution. Chances are you know the weight will be back, but you do not want to be reminded of that before you have lost the weight.
Very few people ever expect to get a permanent weight loss. What most people do expect from a diet, at least when they base it on past experience, is a burst of success, then eventual failure when the weight returns. They just don’t want to think about that right now. When people want something that truly and deeply matters to them the last thing they want to do is consider the consequences in advance.
LA and San Francisco would be villages today if people thought and acted on the eventual consequences of an earthquake. That’s because it stands in the way of their wants and desires.
Consequences are never pleasant to think about, unless we are prepared to act. With each diet, we cause a little more damage to our metabolism and we ensure that more weight will follow with each one. We have also learned that that the next diet will always be harder to go through than the one before.
A diet can be two things.
1. A medical requirement which must be adhered to. Such diets vary but they have things in common, they are almost always permanent and require that you avoid or select specific foods. In other words, they represent a permanent change in lifestyle which, if not adhered to, will cause a risk to health, even a threat to life. Even under those circumstances some people refuse to act against their wants and desires because they are driven by a strong yearning for the banned foods which they cannot resist.
2. The other type of diet has just one purpose, it promises to lose weight, as quickly and painlessly as possible. This appeals to people because it is precisely what they want to hear and to believe. There have been hundreds such diets in the past and we can expect even more in the future because they promise exactly what we hope for. So instead of dwelling on how the diet will affect us in the future, we decide to trust the promise and settle for an inevitable short term result even when the cost of that can be very high. We are only human right?
Stop to think for a moment, about all those diets that have gone before. Think how they can ignite your wants and desires and cause you to believe things you know will prove false, eventually. Look at it realistically; if just one single diet out of all those hundreds of diets finally proves to work, then that would become the winning diet and nobody would want or need any other.
The one thing we can all guarantee about diets is that if that perfect diet, the one that actually works, ever comes to along, it will be news around the world within 48 hours. That means you do not have to jump on the next bandwagon. You can sit back and let someone else experiment with futility. You see, in the final analysis, we all know, deep down that diets do not work…Ever! They cannot, because they fly in the face of nature.
Your only chance for a permanent, healthy way to lose weight is to not diet at all. To lose weight permanently you need to do only four things:
1. Learn how to adapt your lifestyle to foods your body was designed to eat.
2. Learn how to jumpstart your sluggish metabolism and let your body control your weight as nature intended it to do.
3. Learn how to get back your energy and have a slim body again
4. Learn how to keep your slim body and never have to put the weight back on again.
So what do you expect from a diet? Think about it; are these four goals not the ultimate want and desire of everyone? Remember; to achieve them you do not need to count your calories.
These are not difficult things to do. If you can sustain a diet of low calories for 6 weeks, as I’m sure you have done in the past. Then you can sustain a selective food plan, which lets you eat an unrestricted amount of food for the same period. If you do, you will find that within a few weeks, not only will your weight be reduced you will discover that you no longer experience food cravings.
This is a lifestyle anyone can live with. It means; being slim permanently, not ever feeling hungry and not ever having cravings for the foods you know you should not eat.

This is A Test
Recently, my gmail account was hacked by spammers.
Everyone in my contacts got an email, apparently from me,
inviting them to purchase... something... I don't even recall
what it was.
So, that was bad enough. I changed my passwords and
assumed the problem was solved, but alas it was not. The
hacker was posting ads for viagra and similar type products
on my blogs.

So, that was bad enough. I changed my passwords and
assumed the problem was solved, but alas it was not. The
hacker was posting ads for viagra and similar type products
on my blogs.
In efforts to eliminate this from my blog, I have changed the
"mail to blogger" address. If you are a publisher on this
blog, please get in touch with me to get the new address.
Finally... I do apologize for the inappropriate content, and I

Get Off My List
I got a great email yesterday from Mike Dillard. It outlined what it REALLY takes to make in internet marketing - or really anything. The timing was perfect. One of the things that is really important to me in my business, is to be honest. I hate the hype and "dream seller" programs that flat out lie to people telling them that they can get rich overnight.
One of the things that I have found to be a real chore is getting people to accept reality. Reality is that there is NO EASY BUTTON. You have to DO the work, you have to LEARN the skills, and it takes time - I don't care how smart you are, it is going to take time!
Here's what he said:
I knew there was no "we'll do it for you" solution to anything in life.
I knew I needed to master a few key skill sets if I was to get what I wanted, which is why I spent most of my college years, not in class, but at Barne's and Noble reading "real" books on business.
I knew that if I wanted to stop buying leads, I'd need to learn how to generate my own, so I bought some books and learned how.
I knew that if I wanted to sell my business and products to people, that I'd need to learn how to write a sales letter, so I bought some books and learned how.
I knew that if I wanted to make my own sales letters, I'd need to learn how to make a website, so I bought some books and learned how.
I knew that if I wanted to be successful in networking, I'd need to get over my fear of the phone, so I took a job that required me to make 200-300 cold calls per day, and learned how.
I never complained, I never whined, I never bitched, I never blamed anyone other than myself, and I never gave up because I would have rather spent my life in poverty trying, than to have lived in resignation that I didn't have what it took.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but here's God's Honest Truth...
If you want what I've got, you've got to be willing to do what I've done.
You've got to earn the right through blood, sweat, and tears, and there is NO alternative, so don't ever ask me or anyone else if there's an "easy way" to do something.
Are you willing to do that?
He went on to provide a detailed listing of all the books he has read, the calls he has been on, the seminars he's attended, the courses he's completed... and then he gives a few Do Nots... just to make sure people "get" it:
NEVER... EVER... ask me if there's an easy way to generate leads, make money online, or build a downline.
Don't EVER ask me if "his program" will work for you or your company. (Of course it will).
Don't EVER ask me if it's the only book you'll ever need to buy. (Of course it's not).
Don't EVER ask me why there are fees for our programs. They cost you pennies compared what you'd pay to get that kind of information on your own.
Don't EVER whine or complain when a prospect rejects your weak phone call.
Don't EVER ask me if there's a magic pill that will change your life.
Why?
BECAUSE IT'S JUST PLAIN INSULTING TO THOSE OF US WHO PAID THE PRICE.
STOP MAKING EXCUSES, STOP BEING A BABY, AND DO THE SAME.
Success is not the result of luck or an accident.
Success is not fast.
Success is the culmination of countless failures and endless hours of study.
But most of all... Success is worth the sacrifice.
If you've read this newsletter and understood it's message, yet you still don't own a copy of "his program", then get off my list. Seriously.
You're kidding yourself.
Go back to your JOB and come to peace with the fact that you'll always be there.
There's no room for excuse makers in the Fraternity of Do'ers, and nothing I can ever teach you will bring the results you want until you get your head straight.
I LOVE it... Get Off My List...
This business is about getting the right people on your list. A list full of dream seekers is NOT what you want. A list full of business builders is what you DO want.
Now, let's get out there and build a business!

Economic Crisis Fueled by Fear
What are you afraid of?
Are you afraid of losing your home, your wealth, your status? This current economic crisis has really caused me to become more introspective into what I really believe, and how I really feel. The saying that there is nothing to fear but fear itself rings true when it comes to the economy.
There is a definite link between consumer fear and the stock market for example. But what really causes the degree of fear that we are seeing, especially in the US, today? People are doing some crazy things - allowing this crisis to cause emotional distress that is damaging their relationships, their health, their very life. Yes, some are even driven to suicide. Why?
Could it be that we have lost perspective? Could it be that living in a "material world" has caused us to define ourselves by what we own rather than who we are? YOU are more than what you have acquired. YOU are a human being, with a soul, with a purpose. We have become a very competitive and materialistic society that seems to have caused many of us to get lost.
Being the eternal optimist, I view this economic crisis as a time of reawakening. A time to reflect on who we really are, our real purpose. Those who had attained a level of material wealth, whose very identity depends on that wealth, will be forced to re-define themselves, and in the words of Martha Stewart, that is a good thing.
I am not opposed to material wealth and creature comforts - on the contrary. But, I do not believe that we should measure our worth by our bank account. That is but one measurement of our success. A great many of the wealthiest people have never truly achieved real wealth or success. As the great book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles tells us, wealth attained on the competitive plane is fleeting - it is here today and gone tomorrow.
Youth is for an Hour, Beauty is a Flower, But Love is a song With Enduring Power
Love is really what defines us. Our capacity to love ourselves and others, to nurture and protect. I submit that when we endeavor to increase our capacity for love, we will discover our hidden talents and creativity. I am not afraid of the economic crisis because I believe it will be a catalyst in challenging us all to dig a little deeper into who we really are, and I believe that more often than not, we are good.
